Softball is a game that is played out by the door. This game requires a lot of physical strength and stamina to play. Softball is mainly similar to baseball. But softball is a smaller version of the baseball game. The ground of a softball game is smaller as compared to a baseball game. Balls used in both games are also different from each other. Main used in a softball game are softball, softball bats, softball glove and base.
This game is first discovered in 1887 in the United States. This game is played between two teams. One team is the batting team and another team is the pitcher team. Batting teams try to score runs or points by hitting the ball and without getting out. Pitching team balls and defend against the batting team to score.

Area and parameter used in softball
Softball is played on a field known as diamond. This diamond name is given in the shape of the field. There are two fields in the game one is infield and the other in the outfield. Normally, Infield is covered by the dirt and the outfield or out portion is covered by grass and grounded by a wall.
Starting or bating point of the game has a hard rubber five side shape which is pointing in an outward direction. On this rubber, batter places his softball bats and aligns his shot to hit. This rubber base is called the home base. There are three other main stations or base plates. Their base plates are 60 feet apart. These base plates are numbered in the anti-clockwise direction. These bases are named as first base, second base, and third base. Pitcher balls are 35 feet apart from the batter.
From home baselines with chalk is marked to first and third base. These lines indicate the fair territory of the game. Behind these lines, there is a foul area. If a batter hits the ball behind these lines then this will be counted in the foul.
The objective of the game: –
The objective of the batter is to hit the ball as far as possible and score runs for his team. Batting team arranges their order of batting of nine players. If a batter hits the ball in the air and one of the fielders catches the ball directly then it will be given out to the batter. A batter can score run by hitting a home run and by running between the base plates. After hitting from softball bats for one run batter has to run from all of the basements in the anti-clockwise direction.
The objective of the pitcher is to end the inning of the batting team as early as possible. The pitcher pitches the ball in an underhand motion. The pitcher pitches the ball to the batter and tries to strike out the batsman. After hitting the ball by batter they will run from one base to another base plate. Pitcher and fielder work is to throw the ball to the base plate before batter arrival to get him out.
Defenses lining of the fielding team: –
In the out filed there is left fielder, center fielder, and right fielder. And in the file, there are fielders on the first baseman, second baseman, shortstop, and third baseman. Behind the batter is the catcher. In the circle located in the center of the field has a pitcher.

Ball:-
A ball is used by the pitcher to pitch a delivery. There are mainly two types of balls one is fastpitch and the other is a slow pitch. Heavier and smaller balls move faster as compared to lighter balls. Fastpitch balls are 11 inches while the slow pitch balls are 12 inches in size.
Bat:-
For a softball competition, there are different types of material used. Material such as wood, synthetic material, and metal are used in the making of softball bats. Aluminum is the most popular material used by the batters for hitting the ball. These bats are 4 inches in diameter and 34 inches in the length. Lighter and small diameter bat swings faster as compared to heavy bats. Different type of competitions has a different configuration of the bat that is used.
Catching gloves:-
Catching gloves are used by all the fielders and pitchers as well. These gloves are used to protect the fingers from the fast impact of the ball after hitting. The material of these gloves is mainly depending on the ball type that is slow ball and fastball. For the fastball game high quality of foam is used in the making of catching gloves.
